UCLA's Adams pleads no contest to battery of Uber driver
May 4, 2016 - 7:08 PM LOS ANGELES (AP) UCLA football player Ishmael Adams has pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery over a fight he had with an Uber driver shortly before the start of last season. The Los Angeles city attorney's office said Wednesday that under a plea agreement, Adams will serve three years of informal probation with several other requirements and conditions including anger management and psychological counseling.
Adams spent three years as a cornerback for the Bruins but moved to receiver last month for spring practice.
He served a three-game suspension for the Bruins last season and was reinstated when prosecutors declined to file felony charges. He'll face no further discipline with the new plea.
Coach Jim Mora said when Adams was reinstated that he had profusely apologized and accepted the consequences for the incident.
No one has shouted yet.
