Ex-Louisville DL Chris Williams faces felony theft charges
Aug 1, 2017 - 10:41 PM LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Former Louisville defensive lineman Chris Williams is scheduled to make an appearance in Jefferson Circuit Court on felony charges of stealing $2,300 from the bank accounts of three teammates. Cardinals coach Bobby Petrino didn't elaborate Monday after announcing Williams' dismissal for violating team rules . The senior had 29 tackles in 11 games last season. Louisville football spokesman Rocco Gasparro said Williams was dismissed after the team was alerted about the April 27 incident. Campus police arrested Williams on June 23. The Courier-Journal first reported Williams' arrest. Williams did not respond to voicemail from The Associated Press. The arrest citation states that Williams and Laderius Malik Slaughter, who is not a Louisville student, conspired to deceive Cardinal players Robert Bell, Tobias Little and Caleb Tillman into giving them their bank account information. Williams and Slaughter, who are both scheduled to appear in court on Friday, then stole the money from their accounts, the report said. ___ More AP college football: collegefootball.ap.orgNo one has shouted yet.
