Memphis LB Dillon (shoulder) to miss rest of season

Sep 7, 2017 - 4:09 PM Memphis linebacker Jackson Dillon will miss the rest of the season with a shoulder injury, coach Mike Norvell announced.

Dillon sustained the injury during the first half of the Tigers' season-opening 37-29 victory over Louisiana-Monroe.

Norvell said in a statement Wednesday that the team is "planning on filing a medical hardship on (Dillon's) behalf for a sixth season."

A fifth-year senior, Dillon was limited to just one game last season after tearing his MCL. He made a combined 31 starts from 2013-15, recording 20.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.
