Tar Heels lose top WR Proehl to season-ending injury
Sep 29, 2017 - 1:05 AM CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — Add more names to North Carolina's growing list of season-ending injuries, including top receiver Austin Proehl. The school released its injury report Thursday night ahead of Saturday's trip to Georgia Tech. That included Proehl, defensive tackle Tyler Powell, tight end Carl Tucker and receiver Rontavius Groves being out for the season, pushing the list of season-ending injuries to 13. Among those injuries, Proehl had his left arm was in a sling on the sideline during last week's loss to Duke. Powell crumpled to the turf grabbing his right knee before being helped off. And Groves' right leg gave out as he turned for a pass, prompting trainers to immediately put his knee in a brace and cart him away. The school doesn't specify the injuries on the 19-player report. ___ This version corrects that four players were added to the list of season-ending injuries, not three. ___ More AP college football: http://collegefootball.ap.org and http://www.twitter.com/AP_Top25No one has shouted yet.
