Alabama reserve QB Jones arrested on DUI, fake ID charges

Nov 3, 2017 - 9:15 PM TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Alabama reserve quarterback Mac Jones has been arrested on a charge of driving under the influence. Tuscaloosa Police Lt. Teena Richardson says the 19-year-old Jones was charged Friday morning with DUI and for having a fake ID. Richardson says Jones failed a field sobriety test after officers responded to a minor accident with no injuries at 2:14 a.m. He was jailed on $1,300 bond. Alabama coach Nick Saban says the freshman will be suspended from the top-ranked Crimson Tide's game Saturday night against No. 19 LSU. Saban says more action could be taken if needed "so we can correct the behavior." Jones is Alabama's third-team quarterback and hasn't played in a game. He was a four-star recruit from The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida. Starter Jalen Hurts and backup Tua Tagovailoa are the team's only other scholarship quarterbacks. ___ More AP college football: http://collegefootball.ap.org and https://twitter.com/AP_Top25
