Missouri promotes Ryan Walters to defensive coordinator
Dec 9, 2017 - 2:12 AM COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — Ryan Walters has been promoted to Missouri's defensive coordinator. Head coach Barry Odom announced the move Friday. Missouri (7-5) will face Texas in the Texas Bowl in Houston on Dec. 27. Walters is in his third year at Mizzou, and has spent the past two seasons as co-defensive coordinator. In 2017, Walters assumed control of the entire secondary, after focusing on the safeties in his first two years with the program. Walters came to Missouri from Memphis along with Odom in February 2015 when Odom took over as Mizzou's defensive coordinator, and was retained when Odom was named head coach in December of that year. Walters was a standout safety for Colorado from 2004-08. ___ More AP college football: http://collegefootball.ap.org and http://www.twitter.com/AP_Top25No one has shouted yet.
