Former Kentucky starting quarterback Barker will transfer

Jan 3, 2018 - 5:32 AM LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky junior quarterback Drew Barker says on Twitter that he will play his final season elsewhere as a graduate transfer. Barker thanked coaches, teammates and staff in a tweet Tuesday night but did not say where he will play. His decision was confirmed via text by Wildcats football spokeswoman Susan Lax. The QB added, "Football has taken me places that I have never dreamed of and I'm excited to see where it takes me next!" The Burlington, Kentucky, native played four games this season as Stephen Johnson's backup after missing the final nine contests of 2016 with a back injury that required surgery.
