What a weekend for College Football. Top-25 matchups galore including a rematch from one of the best finishes ever in the Oklahoma State–Baylor Big XII Championship Game. Plus, there’s an undefeated Kansas, and James Madison is knocking on the door of a Top-25 ranking in their first ever FBS season. Let’s take a look at a three-team parlay that is worth a look on what should be a great Saturday of football.

Arkansas (+17.5) vs Alabama

Arkansas may have choked away a win last week with a crazy missed field goal and a 13-point swing off a defensive lateral, but they still were able to cover against Texas A&M. Given the large number and home field advantage, there’s no reason to believe the Razorbacks won’t cover again this week.

While Alabama has maintained its national preeminence, the Tide’s road performances haven’t been nearly as dominating. Since the start of last season, Alabama has played 6 true road games, going 5–1 and outscoring opponents by an average of 8 points/game. This includes a 40-point whomping of Miss St in 2021. 17.5 is much too large a number to lay for an Alabama team on the road to a solid Arkansas squad that is sure to be hungry after a disappointing loss.

Last year’s shootout in Tuscaloosa ended 42–35 Alabama. The Razorback’s pass defense troubles have been well documented, but it’s hard to imagine them performing any worse than they did last year. Additionally, though talented, Alabama’s receivers have not posed the same threat either Jameson Williams or John Metchie did (190 yards/3 TDS and 173 yards/1 TD, respectively in this 2021 matchup).

Arkansas’ balanced attack and a strong offensive line should put up enough points to keep this one close.

Minnesota (TT o32.5) vs Purdue

Quietly, Tanner Morgan is one of the most efficient QBs in college football through 4 weeks, posting a 77% completion percentage, the fifth-best QBR per ESPN’s rating and the highest rating per PFF. Equally complemented by a strong ground game (295 yds/game, 17 TDs) led by Mo Ibrahim, Minnesota has a truly two-dimensional attack. Because of this, Minnesota has been able to convert on third down at the highest clip in the country.

Expect Minnesota’s offense to continue its hot start and put up points against Purdue (31 points allowed/game in 3 FBS games).

Kentucky (+7) at Ole Miss

RB Chris Rodriguez, Kentucky’s most dangerous playmaker (1379 yards and 6.1 yds/carry in 2021), returns to the lineup for the first time this year. His return should be tremendously helpful for a struggling Kentucky rushing offense which is only averaging 2.4 yds/attempt. Rodriguez’s return should also help with the passing game: he is a capable pass-blocker and his running threat should force the defense line to maintain some gap integrity, taking some pressure off Will Levis who has already been sacked 16 times this year.

Offensively, Ole Miss has leaned on their own running game so far, and they definitely won’t be at full strength this weekend. Ulysses Bentley IV is out and Zach Evans will play with a hip pointer. While Quinshon Judkins has been excellent, picking up any slack in the running game, Kentucky has held each opponent below their season average rushing totals and should pose a much tougher threat than anyone else Ole Miss has faced to date.

Unless Ole Miss’ middling passing game improves dramatically, Kentucky should cover this spread. If you’re comfortable taking underdogs outright, I would also sprinkle the money line.
