College Football Week 9 Odds, Picks & Prediction: East Carolina vs. BYU

It’s been a roller coaster ride for East Carolina faithful this season, narrowly losing their opener vs. NC State (20-21), picking up two straight wins afterward before losing in overtime to Navy (20-23). Since then, however, the Pirates have gone 3-1, picking up big wins over Memphis and most recently the high-powered UCF last week.

Now, they’ll head west to take on a BYU program that is struggling following three straight losses. Things appeared to be on the up this season for the Cougars, starting the season 4-1 with big wins over Baylor and Utah State before their recent slide. The defense has been their primary concern, giving up 40.3 points per game over this three-game skid.

That could end up spelling trouble once again for the Cougars, as they now draw a Pirates team putting up 33.3 points per game to go along with 309.3 yards through the air. I like for the Pirates to keep this one close.
