College Football Bowl Game Prop Bets Odds, Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (12/28)

Kansas vs. Arkansas

Following a hot start that had them on the trajectory for one of the biggest turnarounds of any program in college football, the wheels fell off this season for Kansas. Starting 5-1, the Jayhawks finished the season going 1-5 over their final six games, barely grabbing bowl eligibility, but doing so for the first time since 2008.

The fall-off began with the loss of QB Jalon Daniels to a shoulder injury, missing all but the final two games of the season.

For Arkansas, the expectations were also once lofty, entering the season as #19 in the preseason polls. After winning their first three games, however, the wheels came off in a similar fashion, losing six of their final nine games behind an offense that never lived up to its expectations.

With Daniels now healthy and expected to suit up for this one, I like for the Jayhawks to put up big numbers against an Arkansas defense that allowed 453.2 yards per game this season.

Bet: Kansas Team Total – Over 33 (-110)

Oregon (#15) vs. North Carolina

Finishing top 15 this season in total offensive yards, passing yards, and points scored, this Oregon offense has been one of the best in the country. Facing a North Carolina defense in the bottom 10% of all the aforementioned categories on the opposite side of the ball, many are expecting the Ducks to name their number.

I’m not so sure, however, as the Ducks will now be without offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham who has since departed for the head job at Arizona State. They do have the luxury of having their QB locked up for next season, as Dillingham helped turn Auburn transfer Bo Nix’s career around as the gunslinger led the PAC-12 in passing yards, touchdowns, and completion percentage this season.

The Tar Heels should have an answer of their own in this game, as quarterback Drake Maye has also announced he is staying. Ranking #9 in the country with 317.2 passing yards per game, this North Carolina team should match Oregon every step of the way.

Without Dillingham to guide Nix, I expect a simplified game plan that pounds the ball and keeps Oregon’s points lower than many expect.

Bet: Oregon Team Total – Under 43.5 (-120)
