College Football 2022 Bowl Game Same Game Parlays Odds, Picks & Predictions: Friday (12/30)

Dec 28, 2022 - 3:33 PM

With just three games on Thursday, college football comes roaring back on Friday with a total of five games beginning at noon eastern and the Orange Bowl taking us home in the late slot. Let’s take a look at a couple of games I am zoned in on for the day.

Gator Bowl: Notre Dame vs. South Carolina

  • Leg 1: South Carolina ML (+115)
  • Leg 2: Over 51.5 (-115)
  • Leg 3: South Carolina Team Total – Over 34.5 (-120)

Quarterback Drew Pyne’s departed Notre Dame, so Tyler Buchner, who started the season at QB, will start this contest. That brings the Notre Dame QB rotation full circle.

The Fighting Irish will be without tight end Michael Mayer. He is anticipated to go first overall in the NFL Draft in April, so that depletes their offense even further. While Mayer is their offensive captain, the Irish will also be without defensive captain Isaiah Foskey who has also declared for the draft.

Buchner won’t be getting any favors from his opponent either, as South Carolina has one of the best secondaries in the country. That unit allowed just 199.5 yards per game through the air.

At QB for the Gamecocks, Oklahoma transfer Spencer Rattler showed his potential down the back half of the season. Rattler took his team on a 7-2 run after starting just 1-2. The dual-threat QB could very well end up enlisting in April’s NFL Draft but has made it very clear he intends to play in this one.

Look for Rattler to be the difference in a game that turns into a shootout.

Orange Bowl: Tennessee vs. Clemson

  • Leg 1: Alternate Total Points – Under 58.5 (+155)
  • Leg 2: Clemson Team Total – Over 37.5 (+135)

Two top-10 teams that once had College Football Playoff aspirations will face off in Miami for the Orange Bowl in the game of the day. Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker is dealing with a torn ACL, so the Volunteers will have to fight without their primary weapon.

The Tigers’ decision to sideline quarterback DJ Uiagalelei was too little, too late. Cade Klubnik will now be the team’s QB going into the upcoming season. With a bevy of tools at his disposal and the support of one of the top offensive lines in the country, Klubnik should put up some strong numbers in this one.

The Tigers will also benefit from defensive stud Jeremiah Trotter Jr., who finished the season with 12 tackles behind the line of scrimmage. With momentum heading into next season top of mind, look for head coach Dabo Swinney to bring his team into this one focused, as they play some of their best ball on both sides of scrimmage.

I’m betting on Clemson putting up a big number and turning around to play some great defense on the other end.
