Sun Bowl Preview
Dec 30, 2022 - 4:38 PMThe Pittsburgh Panthers have one final game to play to put a cap on the 2022 season. The Panthers were selected to play in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl against the UCLA Bruins. This game looks to be Nick Patti’s second consecutive Bowl game to start and a chance at a 9-4 season for Coach Pat Narduzzi.
The Panthers did not have as successful of a season as they did in 2021, but that does not mean that the season was not impactful. The 8 wins that the Panthers have this season is the second highest win total under Coach Narduzzi, and any chance to have a bowl remotely close to a New Year’s Six Bowl is nothing to sneeze at. This game will be a good chance for many players to prove their worth and to make a case to stay on the Panthers in the 2023 season.
The UCLA Bruins have also had a decent season. The Bruins were able to collect 9 wins and finish at number 18 in the final College Football Playoff rankings. Chip Kelly has both revitalized his coaching career, and the UCLA organization since taking the head coach position in 2018.
The Sun Bowl takes place on Friday December 30 at 2 PM Eastern and will be broadcast CBS.
