GAME THREAD: Pitt Panthers vs No.18 UCLA Bruins

It’s finally game day in a sunny El Paso, Texas where the Pittsburgh Panthers will take on the UCLA Bruins in the Sun Bowl.

The Panthers have an eye on changing the feelings amongst the Pitt fan base when it comes to the Sun Bowl. After dropping their last two appearances, a win today would put the Panthers to nine wins and exercise the ghosts of Sun Bowls past.

With all the opt-outs due to players entering the draft and the transfer portal, today we will get a good look at a lot of players that we will be seeing next season against a quality opponent. The future will be now for these young Panthers who will look to make their mark on the national spotlight. Team has been the keyword around the program and the we, not me approach has been seen throughout practice this week.

UCLA is treating this as an important game and will have most of the team intact for this matchup. The Bruins are looking to secure their first 10-win season under coach Chip Kelly who is making his bowl debut with the program. For the Panthers, they are looking to have their first five-game winning streak since 2001 when they capped off a six-game winning streak with a win over NC State in the Tangerine Bowl.
