College Football 2022 Bowl Game Same Game Parlays Odds, Picks & Predictions: Monday (1/2)
Jan 2, 2023 - 12:29 PMSeemingly as soon as it was getting started, the 2022-23 college football bowl season is now just a few games from finishing. With most of the country off work, there are four more bowls before the CFP title game to get us through Monday.
Let’s take a closer look at the two games I’m dialed in on.

College Football 2022 Bowl Game Same Game Parlays Odds, Picks & Predictions: Monday (1/2)
On Monday in Arlington, Texas, the Cotton Bowl will feature a matchup between No. 16 Tulane and No. 10 Southern California, two 11-2 teams who feel very different about being in this game. Both teams recently participated in their respective conference championship contests. The Trojans lost to Utah in the Pac-12 championship game, and the Green Wave defeated UCF to win the American Athletic Conference.
Despite having Williams on its side, USC will be without a few important players on both sides of the ball. Jordan Addison, a past Biletnikoff Trophy winner and Williams’ primary target, will miss the game because of an ankle ailment. Addison hauled in 59 passes for 875 yards and eight touchdowns this season.
In addition, USC will be without its starting offensive linemen Andrew Vorhees and Brett Neilon, while they recover from injuries in time for the NFL Draft. Tulane comes into the game with the nation’s 23rd-ranked scoring defense, giving up 20.5 points per contest, and the 18th-best pass defense, giving up 188.5 yards per contest via the air.
With a young offensive line and a USC attack without Addison, the Green Wave should have an opportunity to irritate Williams. I like for a lower-scoring game than many expect and a more-motivated Tulane to win their first-ever Cotton Bowl.
Parlay Odds: +370
(#11) Penn State vs. (#8) Utah
- Leg 1: Utah -2.5 (-110)
- Leg 2: Under 52.5 (-110)
- Leg 3: Penn State Alternate Total Points – Over 17.5 (+300)
Last year, the Utes were defeated by Ohio State on a last-second field goal, and this year, Utah will face #11 Penn State on Monday in one of the most iconic venues in all of sports. With an 11-4 bowl record under coach Kyle Whittingham, despite last year’s defeat, the Utes have a big advantage in the coaching box.
Sean Clifford, the quarterback for Penn State, is in his final game with the team after six seasons. In the 2022 regular season, Clifford passed for 2,543 yards, 22 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, once again being more of a game manager than a real difference maker.
Star cornerback Joey Porter Jr. of the Nittany Lions decided against playing in the Rose Bowl and instead declared for the draft, as top wide receiver Parker Washington did the same. In the grand scheme of things, Penn State had fewer opt-outs than many expected, but nearly still at full strength, I like for this Utah defense to shut down Penn State en route to a big win.
