One of the best open-ice hits I've ever seen was at the beanpot finals a few years back between BU and BC. BC puck carrier is stradding the red-line, skating from the left to right towards the BC bench. From his own goal line, a BU defenseman streaks up the right side like a missile and absolutely destroys the BC player who had just turned up-ice. The BC kid got decleated while his stick flew 15 feet forward in the air, past the shocked faces of his teammates. (I saw this live and made sure to tivo it on Sportscenter that night. It was a sad day in the bones household when I accidentally erased the clip.)
