Browns snap 11-game skid against Ravens

Nov 4, 2013 - 6:37 AM Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Jason Campbell had three touchdown passes as the Cleveland Browns snapped an 11-game losing streak to the Baltimore Ravens with a 24-18 victory on Sunday.

Campbell was an efficient 23-for-35 for 262 yards, with Davone Bess catching two scores and Gary Barnidge hauling in the other for the Browns (4-5), whose last win against the Ravens came on Nov. 18, 2007.

"He was hurting out there and kept fighting and made some huge plays and big- time throws," Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski said of Campbell.

Greg Little caught seven passes for 122 yards to help Cleveland snap a three- game losing streak.

Joe Flacco threw for 250 yards with two touchdowns and an interception on 24- of-41 passing for the Ravens (3-5), who have lost their past three games. Flacco also led the ground game for the team, gaining 25 yards on three carries.

"I know our players are good enough to win these games. There's no doubt about it. We just have to play better," Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said.

After an exchange of punts to start the game, Cleveland got on the board with an eight-play, 80-yard drive. The team faced a 4th-and-goal at the 1-yard line and opted to go for it, with Campbell tossing a pass to his right where Bess caught it for a 7-0 lead with 8:24 left in the first.

The Ravens came back with a scoring drive of their own, but they only came away with three points thanks to Justin Tucker's 51-yard field goal with 3:38 to play in the first. The big play of the 11-play, 47-yard drive was a 23-yard catch by Tandon Doss on 3rd-and-7 from the Baltimore 49.

Cleveland's first touch of the second quarter bore fruit, as the ninth play of the drive saw Campbell toss a pass down the right sideline for Bess, who caught it near the 5-yard line and took it in for a 20-yard score and a 14-3 lead with 10:08 to play in the second.

Baltimore got the ball back with 1:01 to play in the second and was able to cut into its deficit as Flacco and Marlon Brown got together on a 19-yard score to make it a 14-10 game at the half. Torrey Smith caught a 46-yard pass on 3rd-and-8 to set up the score.

The Ravens held the ball for 13 plays and over six minutes of the opening drive of the second half, but had to punt and Cleveland got the ball back at its own 20.

The Browns got to midfield before having to punt, but Doss muffed the punt and it was recovered by the Browns at the Baltimore 11. Two plays later, Campbell found Barnidge in the end zone from four yards out for a 21-10 lead with 5:11 to play.

Doss made up for his earlier mistake by returning a punt 36 yard down to the Cleveland 32 to give the Ravens excellent field position early in the fourth quarter. Flacco took advantage of the short field by finding Brown in the end zone from seven yards out, then went to Brown again for the two-point conversion to make it a 21-18 game with 12:09 to play.

Baltimore got close to midfield after holding the Browns, but ultimately had to punt and Cleveland got the ball back with 6:44 to play.

Cleveland killed off all but 14 seconds of the clock thanks to converting a third down, and a fourth down on the 15-play, 67-yard drive. Billy Cundiff's 22-yard field goal made it a six-point game, and Baltimore didn't have enough time to get into serious scoring position.
