Bucs beat Dolphins on late TD catch from Douglas

Aug 25, 2013 - 3:32 AM Miami, FL (Sports Network) - David Douglas' touchdown catch with 1:03 to play helped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take a 17-16 win over the Miami Dolphins in a preseason contest on Saturday.

Josh Freeman was a measly 6-for-16 for 59 yards in the start, while Mike Glennon tossed the winning score for the Buccaneers, who got their first win of the preseason in their third game. Brian Leonard had 10 carries for 38 yards and a touchdown.

Ryan Tannehill was 17-for-27 with 150 yards and a score and Brandon Gibson caught five passes for 43 yards and a touchdown for the Dolphins, who fell to 1-3 in the preseason.

With time winding down, Tampa Bay recovered a Jonas Gray fumble and the team took over at the Miami 25. Five plays later, Glennon found Douglas over the middle for a 12-yard score and a 17-16 lead.

Pat Devlin was intercepted on Miami's ensuing possession and the Buccaneers ran out the clock.

Caleb Sturgis kicked a 22-yard field goal to get Miami on the board on its first possession, and Tampa answered after recovering a muffed punt with Leonard getting into the end zone from a yard out.

Rian Lindell hit a 38-yard field goal to give the Bucs a 10-3 lead four minutes into the second quarter.

Miami, though, got a 23-yard field goal from Sturgis and a 4-yard touchdown catch from Gibson in the final seconds of the first half to take a 13-10 lead into the break.

Sturgis' 28-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter gave the Dolphins a six-point lead.
