McFadden, Raiders fall to Seahawks
Aug 30, 2008 - 5:20 AM SEATTLE (Ticker) -- Rookie Darren McFadden rushed for 50 yards in limited action, but the Oakland Raiders suffered a 23-16 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Friday.McFadden's most impressive run came on the Raiders' second possession as he burst off the right tackle for a 24-yard gain. The fourth-overall pick in the draft out of Arkansas, McFadden had four carries, playing sparingly in the first half.
With starting quarterback Matt Hasselbeck sidelined with a tight back, Seneca Wallace played most of the game. Hasselbeck is expected to be back for the season opener against the Buffalo Bills on September 7.
Wallace passed for 255 yards and T.J. Duckett rushed 11 times for 71 yards and two scores for the Seahawks, who jumped to a 13-0 lead midway through the second quarter.
The Raiders' Andrew Walter passed for 162 yards before being replaced in the fourth quarter by Marques Tuiasosopo, who connected with Marcel Reece on a 25-yard touchdown play.
Oakland hosts the Denver Broncos in its season opener on Sept. 8.
