Young guides Titans past Bills

ORCHARD PARK, New York (Ticker) - Vince Young ran the two-minute drill to perfection and the Tennessee Titans rode the momentum to a 28-17 preseason victory over the Buffalo Bills on Friday night.

The Titans drove 78 yards in 2:07, capped by Young's 5-yard scoring pass to tight end Bo Scaife, to take a 14-10 halftime lead.

On the preceding drive, Bills quarterback J.P. Losman had connected on a 64-yard TD pass to Lee Evans with 2:37 left in the first half to give the Bills their first - and only -lead at 10-7.

The Titans had way with the Bills on their first two possessions, taking the game's first lead on Young's 2-yard touchdown run 1:58 into the second quarter.

Young finished 13-of-19 for 162 yards and a touchdown.

Lamont Thompson picked off Losman to set up the touchdown. It was Tennessee's fifth interception of the preseason and Thompson's second.

Second-year running back LenDale White got his first start of the preseason and finished with 51 yards on 11 carries for Tennessee.

Losman and Peerless Price connected for gains of 21 and 56 yards on the ensuing possession but Buffalo only mustered a 20-yard field goal by Ryan Lindell, cutting the deficit to 7-3 with 8:54 left in the first half.

Bills first-round pick Marshawn Lynch started and struggled for the second straight week at running back, managing nine yards on nine carries. Lynch has gained just 28 yards on 18 carries.

The Titans broke the game open in the third quarter as backup quarterback Kerry Collins threw two TD passes, connecting with Justin Gage from 16 yards and hitting Biren Elay down the middle for a 40-yard strike.
