Surging Browns to take on Cardinals

GLENDALE, Arizona (Ticker) -- Three games into the season, the Cleveland Browns were looking to save their coach's job. The stakes have grown considerably higher.

The Browns travel to face the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday and continue their push for both a playoff berth and a possible division title.

Winners of two in a row and five of its last six games, Cleveland is one game behind front-running Pittsburgh in the AFC North.

Despite the impressive surge, the Browns are just one game ahead of Tennessee for the sixth and final slot for a playoff berth in the conference.

After a series of close games, Cleveland had a relative breather in last week's 27-17 victory over the Houston Texans.

Derek Anderson threw two touchdown passes and Jamal Lewis rushed for 134 yards on 29 carries as the Browns recorded their first five-game home winning streak since the 1994 season.

Lewis had 91 of his yards in the second half as Cleveland ripped off 13 straight points to break the game open.

"You are going to have two- and three-yard runs, but you make adjustments and those runs start to open up," Lewis said. "It's my time of year to run the football, in November and December."

Kellen Winslow caught 10 passes for 107 yards, marking the third 100-yard game of his career. His 874 receiving yards are tops among tight ends in the league.

The Cardinals will be looking to bounce back from a stunning 37-31 setback in overtime to the lowly San Francisco 49ers, who snapped an eight-game losing streak in beating Arizona for the second time this season.

Kurt Warner threw for an NFL season-high 486 yards but his fumble in the end zone was recovered by Tully Banta-Cain with 5:02 to play in overtime to end it.

The loss dropped the Cardinals two games behind the Seattle Seahawks for first place in the NFC West.

The Cardinals had a chance to win earlier in overtime but Neil Rackers missed a 32-yard field goal wide left with 6:43 remaining.

Larry Fitzgerald had a monster day for Arizona, hauling in nine passes for 156 yards and two touchdowns, including a Hail Mary on the final play of the first half.
