NFL Note - New England Patriots Harris, David
Jul 28, 2017 - 6:01 AM LB David Harris joined the Patriots in late May after the veteran former Pro Bowler was dumped by the Jets. He jumped at the chance to cross lines in the famous Border War and join New England, where he adds much-needed depth to the linebacker corps led by captain Dont'a Hightower. Harris is a durable force (he missed just one game in the last eight seasons) who topped 100 tackles in six of 10 years with the Jets. Patriots coach Bill Belichick made it clear he doesn't necessarily assume that will translate into instant fit and production in New England. Harris agrees. "I told some guys I feel like a transfer student, coming in late and pretty much hit the ground running," Harris said after his first training camp practice in New England. "I have to spend more time in the playbook at night and in the morning and with the coaches to get me up to speed. That's expected for a new guy, and I'm no different."No one has shouted yet.
