Aug 18, 2017 - 8:08 AM QB C.J. Beathard will be the team's second quarterback in Saturday's preseason game against the Denver Broncos, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan announced Thursday. Beathard followed both QB Brian Hoyer and QB Matt Barkley in the preseason opener at Kansas City. Beathard and Barkley are competing to be Hoyer's chief backup during the regular season.No one has shouted yet.
