Redskins waive Thompson with injury settlement

Aug 19, 2017 - 12:45 AM The Washington Redskins waived wide receiver Kendal Thompson from injured reserve with an injury settlement, the team announced Friday.

Thompson has been unable to practice due to a leg injury.

Thompson signed with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of Utah in May 2016. He was waived prior to the start of last season and was signed to the team's practice squad.

Washington brought him back on a future/reserve contract in January.

Thompson has transitioned from quarterback to wide receiver, with his lone catch for eight yards coming with Utah in the Las Vegas Bowl. He began his career at Oklahoma before transferring to Utah for his final two seasons.
