Broncos promote LB Mount from practice squad

Nov 16, 2017 - 6:14 PM The Denver Broncos promoted outside linebacker Deiontrez Mount from their practice squad to the active roster, the team announced Wednesday.

In addition, the Broncos signed tight end Brian Parker and wide receiver Tim Patrick to the practice squad.

The 6-foot-5, 253-pound Mount is a third-year player who appeared in five career games with Tennessee (2015) and the Indianapolis Colts (2016) after being selected by the Titans in the sixth round of the 2015 draft out of the University of Louisville.

Mount competed with Indianapolis this preseason before being placed on injured reserve and waived. He signed with the Broncos prior to their final preseason game and competed on the team's practice squad for the first 10 weeks of the regular season.

Mount combined to play 49 defensive snaps and 22 special teams plays in four games with Tennessee in 2015, recording an interception in his first career contest. He played eight special teams snaps in his lone appearance for the Colts in 2016.

The 6-4, 265-pound Parker is a second-year player who appeared in nine games for the Kansas City Chiefs as a rookie in 2015. He spent time with the New York Jets this past offseason.

The 6-4, 212-pound Patrick is a rookie from the University of Utah who previously competed on the Broncos' practice squad from Weeks 7 to 9. He originally was signed by the Baltimore Ravens as a college free agent and spent the entire preseason with the San Francisco 49ers.
