Chiefs DT Miller arrested on domestic battery charge
Nov 16, 2017 - 5:43 PM Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Roy Miller was arrested in Jacksonville, Fla., early Saturday morning and charged with domestic battery.Miller, 30, was taken into custody on suspicion of domestic battery and booked into the Duval County Jail at 4:53 a.m. ET, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Department of Corrections.
The incident involved a minor injury, according to local news outlets. Miller was released on his own recognizance after an initial court appearance Saturday afternoon. Another hearing was set for Nov. 28.
"This morning we were informed about an incident involving one of our players, Roy Miller," the Chiefs said in a statement. "We are still in the process of gathering details on the situation. We will have no further comment at this time."
With the AFC West-leading Chiefs (6-3) on a bye this week, Miller traveled to Florida.
The 6-foot-1, 301-pound Miller, playing in his ninth NFL season, has appeared in seven games this season and he made two tackles in the Chiefs' 28-17 loss to the Cowboys in Dallas last Sunday. He has six tackles on the season.
Miller played four seasons (2013-2016) with the Jacksonville Jaguars before being released on March 12. He signed with the Chiefs on Aug. 2.
