NFL Note - Baltimore Ravens Smith, Jimmy

Dec 5, 2017 - 10:40 AM CB Jimmy Smith suffered a season-ending torn Achilles injury late in the second quarter. Smith is the Ravens' top player in the secondary. He has 26 tackles and three interceptions this season.

Smith has been dealing with a sore Achilles for most of the past two months and the tendon finally gave out. "He's been a tough sucker this year," safety Eric Weddle said. "He's been battling through that Achilles all season, basically the last six to eight games, not practicing all week. We know, as players, when you're battling through an injury like that, it's only time." The Ravens also announced that Smith was suspended four games for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances.
