Favre has 4-10 record at Metrodome

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) - Brett Favre has a losing record against one of the Green Bay Packers' division rivals. That team is the Minnesota Vikings, who will host the Packers on Sunday in a battle of NFC North teams.

The NFL's only three-time MVP, Favre is 13-14 against the Vikings, including a 4-10 mark here at the Metrodome.

Last season, the Vikings handed Favre and the Packers a pair of heartbreaking losses - 23-20 here and 20-17 at Green Bay. In both contests, Paul Edinger drilled the game-winning field goals for the Vikings.

But now former Packer Ryan Longwell does the kicking for Minnesota. He spent his first nine years with Green Bay and is the franchise's all-time leader with 1,054 points.

Last March, Longwell left the Packers to sign with the Vikings and has made 14-of-17 field goals this season, including game-winning kicks against Washington and Carolina.

Longwell was especially clutch for the Packers, making 21-of-22 field goals in the fourth quarter and overtime from December 15, 2002 through the 2005 season.

But Green Bay is satisfied with its kicker Dave Rayner, a second-year player from Michigan State. Rayner has converted 12-of-15 field goals, including a long of 54 yards, this season.

The Packers had a chance to even their record at the midway point of the season after getting off to a 1-4 start, but committed four turnovers in a 24-10 loss at Buffalo.

Favre threw for 287 yards and one touchdown, but was intercepted twice. He has passed for 1,948 yards and 11 touchdowns with seven interceptions this season.

Green Bay's Donald Driver leads the NFC with 50 catches for 580 yards. Nine of those catches for 96 yards came in the loss at Buffalo.

Packers defensive end Aaron Kampman leads the NFL with 9 1/2 sacks, three more than his total all of last season.

The Vikings have dropped their last two games to slip to 4-4 at the midway point. Their worst offensive performance came last week in a 9-3 loss at San Francisco, which had allowed a league-high 33.6 points per game.

Brad Johnson threw for just 136 yards. Only five of his 21 completions went to wide receivers. Running back Chester Taylor had eight receptions for 45 yards.

A backup to Jamal Lewis in Baltimore for the last four seasons, Taylor has rushed for 708 yards and caught 32 passes in his first year as a feature back.

Green Bay's Ahman Green rushed for 122 yards on 23 carries last week, but will face a Vikings' defense which ranks second in the league against the run.

The Vikings have won the last three meetings, including a playoff game in 2004.
