Reports: Fox not likely to return to Bears

Dec 31, 2017 - 4:27 PM The Chicago Bears are expected to part ways with coach John Fox after this season, multiple outlets reported on Sunday.

The Bears will finish in the cellar of the NFC North for the third consecutive season under Fox, who was hired by the team in January 2015 after a four-year stint as the Denver Broncos' coach.

Fox coached the Broncos to a 46-18 record, four consecutive division titles and a Super Bowl appearance, but that level of success did not travel with him to the Windy City.

The 62-year-old Fox posted a 14-33 mark with the Bears (5-10) heading into Sunday's season finale against the Minnesota Vikings. He owns a 133-122 record with Chicago, Denver and the Carolina Panthers.

"I haven't really thought about (continuing to coach)," Fox said this week. "We've still got this game. I don't do much of that contemplating until the offseason. So we're not quite there yet."

The Bears haven't had a winning season since 2012.
