Kansas City Chiefs vs. Baltimore Ravens Odds & Game Pick (2021)

Sep 19, 2021 - 10:21 AM

Sunday Night Football is going to be a great game to watch. The battle of the MVPs. Both quarterbacks are excellent. Lamar Jackson has been the quarterback that will burn teams with his legs, while Patrick Mahomes will sling the ball through the air. Patrick Mahomes has some of the best talent in the league surrounding him. Lamar Jackson has one of the best defenses in the league. Kansas City vs. Baltimore is shaping up to be one of the best games of the week.

Overview

I love the Kansas City Chiefs in this game, in their last 25 games they are 22-3.  The Kansas City Chiefs have a great quarterback in Patrick Mahomes and he has weapons all around him this year, this trend of winning will continue. With the Baltimore secondary banged up, Baltimore is going to struggle to stop Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill. The Chiefs are 0-4-1 against the spread in their last five games on the road. That worries me about the Chiefs covering against Baltimore even with their weakened secondary.

Baltimore’s running game is going to depend on Lamar Jackson this week. With Baltimore’s top three running backs out for the season, they are depending on a stall of free agents to fill in the gap. This will make it easy for Kansas City’s defense to game plan against Baltimore. They will need to spy the quarterback and drop defenders back into the secondary. The over has hit five out of Baltimore vs. Kansas City’s last seven games, but the lack of run game makes Baltimore too one-dimensional to take the over in this game.

Both sides of this Baltimore team are too banged up for the over in total points. With how dynamic both offenses are, that is normally the play for this game because of the value. For that reason, I want to stay away from the total points. Both of these teams are awful against the spread too. Kansas City is 1-10-1 against the spread in their last 12 games, and Baltimore is 1-4 against the spread when they play Kansas City. Kansas City is also 0-4-1 against the spread in their last five games on the road. That leaves the moneyline as the best value when betting on these two teams playing each other.

Betting Trends

  • The over has hit five out of Baltimore vs. Kansas City’s last seven games
  • The Chiefs are 0-4-1 against the spread in their last five games on the road
  • Kansas City is 1-10-1 against the spread in their last 12 games
  • Baltimore is 1-4 against the spread when they play Kansas City
  • Ravens last beat the Chiefs October 7, 2012
  • Chiefs are 22-3 in their last 25 games

Bottom Line

The last time the Ravens beat the Chiefs was October 7th, 2012. It’s been nine years since the Chiefs’ last loss to the Ravens, and they have a 22-3 record in their last 25 games. This makes this moneyline look like a great value play for the Chiefs. This moneyline is one of the best values you will get when betting on the Chiefs since they are normally heavy favorites. Take the value. Take the moneyline.

Pick: Kansas City Chiefs Moneyline (-175)
