Seattle Seahawks vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Odds & Game Pick (2021)
Oct 14, 2021 - 12:25 AMThe Pittsburgh Steelers got back in the win column last week vs. the Broncos following a 3-game slide that had many calling for a change at quarterback (and beyond?). Instead, they’ll welcome in yet another backup quarterback this week in Geno Smith, as the Seahawks come to town for Sunday Night Football.
Let’s take a closer look at where the value remains as kickoff approaches.

Overview
In what was as close to a Week 5 win as there can be, the Steelers got the job done last week at home vs. a Broncos team that came to town with a 3-1 record. In the 27-19 win, Steelers’ running back Najee Harris had his first 100+ yard performance as Roethlisberger added 253 through the air.
However, not all was positive for the Steelers, as WR1 JuJu Smith-Schuster was lost for the season with a shoulder injury.
For the visiting Seahawks, the injury bug also visited last week, though much more significantly. In their 17-26 loss to the Rams, starting quarterback, Russell Wilson sustained a finger injury that’s expected to keep him out for no less than four weeks.
That could be fatal news for a team whose defense is hovering near the league’s basement, allowing 450.8 yards per game, including 305.6 through the air.

Trends
- Favorite is 5-1 ATS in L6 matchups
- Steelers 4-0 ATS in L4 week 6 games
- Under 6-1 in L7 Seahawk’s October games
Bottom Line
In addition to the 450.8 yards per game, this Seahawks defense also allows 25.2 points per game and shows no signs of improvement. This season, things might worsen, as CB Tre Brown and LB Bobby Wagner are questionable as the week turns to Thursday.
For the Steelers, a defense that had injury issues is seemingly getting healthier, and I expect them to have a big performance against a veteran in Smith on Sunday night whom they have plenty of film on.
Pick: Steelers -5
