What are Team Futures?

Futures refers to any team-based wager for a future event or a result. These bets often do not pay out until weeks or even months from when they are initially placed. Bets for win totals and the Super Bowl winner are good examples of team futures bets.

​​Jacksonville Jaguars Super Bowl Odds

At +12500, a small fortune could be made, sprinkling a few bucks on the Jacksonville Jaguars to hoist the Lombardi this season. Still, it’s hard to be optimistic.

It didn’t work out for the Jaguars when they added Super Bowl 52 MVP quarterback Nick Foles and for similar reasons, adding Super Bowl 52 head coach Doug Pederson doesn’t excite me. It won’t be nearly enough. The Jaguars need a lot more than just personnel who have succeeded at the highest level.

I expect Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne to dazzle this upcoming season, but a championship season by this team is undoubtedly not worth gambling on.

Jacksonville Jaguars Conference Winner Odds

+5000 is not enticing enough for me to believe the jaguars can go through the Gauntlet of the Bills, Bengals or any AFC West team. If it happens, look for better odds found in the form of parlays in the postseason. 

Of the six teams to draft back-to-back first overall, none have accomplished this feat. I’ll stay away again.

Jacksonville Jaguars Division Winner Odds

There is value in the Jaguars winning this division at +700. It’s in the realm of possibilities. Still, it’s best to stay far away from this bet.

The Titans have won back-to-back division titles. The Indianapolis Colts added 2018 MVP quarterback Matt Ryan. Jacksonville has finished last place in the AFC South in five of the past six seasons.

It’s plain to see that the Jaguars will likely be competing against the Houston Texans for third place in the division. Stay away, and don’t overthink it.

Jacksonville Jaguars Win Totals Over/Under Odds

The Jaguars are favorites in just two games this season: Week 5 vs. the Houston Texans and Week 7 vs. the New York Giants. Jacksonville is in an exciting situation to be the best they’ve been in years, but they’re not in a position where winning seven games is a likely outcome.

While most expect Lawrence and the Jaguars to take a step forward this season, it may not be enough. Even with the juice, I’d lean under 6.5.

Jacksonville Jaguars to Make the Playoffs Odds

There is no value here. I’d sooner size up my bet and wager on the Jaguars to win more than 6.5 games at plus money.

Favorite Jacksonville Jaguars Futures Bet

Jaguars under 6.5 wins (-130)

The Jaguars have won more than 6.5 games just once in the past decade: their 10-6 2017 season. Betting under on the Jaguars’ win total is 15-5 since the 2002 realignment. There’s no doubt that the Clemson duo of Lawrence and Etienne are poised to have big years, but the addition of Travon Walker may not be enough on defense: PFF has the Jaguars ranking as the 28th worst defense heading into the 2022 season.
