Bengals look for fourth straight win over Browns
Nov 21, 2006 - 10:57 PM Cincinnati (5-5) at Cleveland (3-7) Sunday 1:00 pm ESTCLEVELAND (Ticker) -- Before a showdown against the Baltimore Ravens, the Cincinnati Bengals must continue to rule "The Battle of Ohio."
The Bengals look for their fifth straight win over the Cleveland Browns when the AFC North rivals meet on Sunday.
Cincinnati (5-5) is three games behind first-place Baltimore. The teams meet four days after this contest in Cincinnati.
But the Bengals will be trying to avoid looking past the Browns.
On September 17, Carson Palmer threw for 352 yards and a pair of first-quarter touchdown passes and Rudi Johnson rushed for 145 yards and two fourth-quarter scoring runs to lead the Bengals to a 34-17 victory over the Browns. Johnson also rushed for 295 yards in the two wins over the Browns last season.
Palmer completed 14-of-22 passes for 275 yards and three touchdowns and Johnson rushed for 111 yards in last week's 31-16 victory at New Orleans.
Chad Johnson also had another monster game against the Saints, catching six passes for 190 yards and three TDs. The talkative wide receiver has 17 receptions for 450 yards and five scores in his last two contests.
Cincinnati has not won consecutive games since opening the season at 3-0.
The Browns failed in their bid for their first winning streak of the season with last week's 24-20 loss to Pittsburgh. Braylon Edwards enjoyed his best game in two seasons, catching seven passes for 137 yards.
Cleveland was without running back Reuben Droughns last week due to a foot injury. Jason Wright rushed for 74 yards on 18 carries in Droughns' absence.
No one has shouted yet.
