Ravens hope to end three-game skid vs. Dolphins

MIAMI (Ticker) -- The Baltimore Ravens look to avoid a fourth consecutive loss Sunday when they visit the Miami Dolphins.

After suffering a pair of close losses - one to a division rival - the previous two weeks, the Ravens were dominated by the Indianapolis Colts, 31-3, last Sunday.

Baltimore rookie quarterback Joe Flacco started to show his inexperience, as he endured his worst career outing. He tossed three interceptions while completing 28-of-38 passes for 241 yards - although a majority of his yards came after the game was no longer within reach.

The Ravens, who also lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans during this skid, committed five turnovers and uncharacteristically surrendered big plays defensively.

The Dolphins also are looking to bounce back after a heartbreaking 29-28 loss to the previously winless Houston Texans.

On fourth down, Matt Schaub rushed up the middle for a 3-yard touchdown with just three seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to snap Miami's two-game losing streak.

Ronnie Brown's 6-yard touchdown run with 1:45 left gave Miami the lead, but the defense could not keep the Texans out of the end zone one last time.

Miami's Chad Pennington completed 19-of-25 passes for 284 yards and two touchdowns.

"(Sunday) was just a roller coaster of emotions," Pennington said. "You go from the highest of highs after scoring, and then they score. That last series for them was just like the game. And it hurts. It's just one of those games in sports where you just don't have answers."
