Flacco, Ravens return home to face Eagles
Nov 18, 2008 - 7:51 PM PHILADELPHIA (5-4-1) AT BALTIMORE (6-4), 1:00 pm ESTBALTIMORE (Ticker) -- Rookie quarterback Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens return to M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday after a three-game road trip to host the Philadelphia Eagles.
Flacco passed for 164 yards and one touchdown but was intercepted twice as the Ravens had their four-game winning streak snapped with a 30-10 setback to the New York Giants last week.
The 23-year-old Flacco has had an up-and-down first NFL campaign, passing for 1,813 yards and eight scores with nine interceptions. He also has two rushing touchdowns.
Baltimore, which endured a three-game losing skid earlier in the season, is one game behind the Pittsburgh Steelers (7-3) in the AFC North.
The Ravens, who have played just one home game since October 5, have just two road contests remaining on their schedule.
The Eagles are winless in their last two contests after tying the Cincinnati Bengals, 13-13, last Sunday. It marked the NFL's first tie since the Atlanta Falcons and Pittsburgh Steelers battled to a 34-34 stalemate on November 10, 2002.
This tie was a lot less exciting, as the Bengals and Eagles (5-4-1) took turns making mistakes in a game that was comical at times.
It was a horrific afternoon for Philadelphia's Donovan McNabb, who tied a career high with three interceptions and also lost a fumble.
McNabb completed just 28-of-58 passes for 339 yards with a touchdown and had a number of his passes batted down at the line of scrimmage in a dismal performance. He also seemed clueless after the game.
"I didn't know they had ties in the NFL," McNabb said. "In college, high school and Pop Warner, there aren't ties. I wonder what would happen in the playoffs or Super Bowl. I guess we are aware of it now."
- Sweetness34 I gave a root for 2 things:
1. McNabb got benched for the 1st time in his career.
2. 108 INT for TD by Ed Reed, and it was his 2nd INT of the game.
Eagles 7, Ravens 36 FinalNov 23 7:48 PM - Sweetness34 Poor tackling by the Eagles offense. That 108 INT for TD by Ed Reed could've been prevented.
