Monday Night Football Odds, Picks & Predictions: Saints vs. Buccaneers (Week 13)
Dec 2, 2022 - 11:34 AMThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-6) and the New Orleans Saints (4-8) willface off in Week 13 for a Monday Night Football matchup at Raymond James Stadium (ESPN).
Despite the losing records, the NFC South is still very much in play for all teams involved with plenty of divisional action remaining on the schedule. Can Tom Brady and company further their currently narrow lead in the division? Or will the Saints exact revenge?
Let’s take a closer look.

- Opening Line: Buccaneers -6 | O/U 40
- Current Line: Buccaneers -3.5 | O/U 40.5
- Last meeting: September 18, 2022 – Buccaneers 20, Saints 10
Overview
With three losses in their last four games, New Orleans was blanked (13-0) on Sunday in San Francisco for the first time this season. The Saints, who went 1-3 in November, averaged 12.5 points per game, as the offense has completely stalled under Andy Dalton. The Tampa Bay defense restricted the Saints to only 308 total yards in a 20-10 Bucs victory on September 18, as the Saints will try to generate some offense against this unit once again at a time they desperately need it.
On Sunday, the Buccaneers lost an overtime game at Cleveland in a matchup they had multiple chances to win. With a minute left in the fourth quarter, Tampa Bay had a 17-10 lead over the Browns, but the 3-point underdog Browns fought back to win the game late in the overtime period. The Bucs had 229 passing yards, which was their fewest since October 16 in a single game (229), but still won the passing yard battle by 51 yards.
Bottom Line
Having lost three of their last four behind an offense that is stalling seemingly every week, you have to wonder how long before a reportedly healthy Jameis Winston sees the field again. Jameis almost certainly gives the Saints a better chance to win than Dalton, and I think this could be the week we see Winston if the offense stalls early once again.
Having come down since opening at +6, the market largely agrees that this will be a field goal game or closer, as we’ve settled in right around +3 as the week has unfolded. With both teams in desperation mode, I’ll take the points with a Saints team that has been underperforming given the talent they have on their defense.
Pick: Saints +3.5
