Bramlet lifts Hamburg to World Bowl title

Jun 23, 2007 - 9:20 PM FRANKFURT, Germany (Ticker) -- Casey Bramlet helped the Hamburg Sea Devils win their first World Bowl.

Bramlet passed for 347 yards and a World Bowl record four touchdowns to lead the Sea Devils to a 37-28 victory over the Frankfurt Galaxy in World Bowl XV on Saturday.

Bramlet, who completed 20-of-27 passes, won the game's Most Valuable Player award.

After throwing a pair of touchdowns in the opening quarter, Bramlet connected with Josh Davis on a 51-yard touchdown pass to give Hamburg a 30-21 lead with 4:27 remaining in the third quarter.

The Galaxy responded with a nine-play, 46-yard drive, capped by Sha-ron Edwards' two-yard touchdown rush on the last play of the third quarter to close the gap to 30-28.

The Sea Devils scored the final points of the game with 10:55 left on a 10-yard scoring strike from Bramlet to Marcus Maxwell, who finished with five receptions for 127 yards and two scores.

Frankfurt quarterback J.T. O'Sullivan was intercepted by Hamburg safety John Walker with 1:34 remaining to seal the game.
