Blackhawks hand Ducks 10th straight road loss

Dec 17, 2011 - 5:49 AM Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Patrick Sharp and Marian Hossa each recorded a goal and an assist, as the Blackhawks downed the road-weary Ducks, 4-1.

Anaheim, which started a five-game road trip Friday, has dropped a franchise- record 10 straight as the visitor (0-7-3).

Jamal Mayers and Dave Bolland each scored for Chicago, which has won four straight and six of seven overall.

Ray Emery made 24 saves, added an assist and was 1:47 away from a shutout before Teemu Selanne netted his 10th goal of the season.

Jonas Hiller gave up all four Chicago goals on 24 shots.

"We didn't play smart enough," Hiller said. "We gave them their chances."

Mayers broke a 24-game goal drought with a backhander from behind the net 6:37 into the game.

Seconds after helping to kill off a power-play chance early in the second, Lubomir Visnovsky turned it over in the Ducks' zone, and Sharp fed Hossa in front for a backhander at 1:07.

Bolland recorded his goal with the man advantage later in the period, wristing one from between the circles with 2:41 remaining.

Sharp somehow skated through a trio of defenders and wristed his 17th goal past Hiller's glove side for a 4-0 lead midway through the third.

"We didn't give them opportunities off our mistakes and we took advantage of their mistakes," Emery said.
