Ducks get by Columbus for fifth straight win

Feb 19, 2013 - 6:30 AM Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Ryan Getzlaf had a goal and an assist in the Anaheim Ducks' 3-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Peter Holland and Corey Perry also tallied for Anaheim, which has won five in a row and nine of its last 10.

Jonas Hiller made 25 saves in the victory.

"I thought I was working hard tonight," Hiller said. "I got the bounces and everybody was sacrificing themselves. Even when we don't play our best game, we still find a way."

Vinny Prospal and Derick Brassard scored for the Blue Jackets, who have dropped three straight and six of their last seven games.

"They scored two quick goals and we came up short again. We have to find a way to score more goals," Brassard said.

Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 26 shots in defeat.

Prospal's putback on a rebound got Columbus on the board 3:30 into the game, but the Ducks answered with a pair of goals to close the opening period and added another in the third.

Two of those three tallies came on the power play.

Following a Columbus turnover on an Anaheim power play, Bobby Ryan skated down the left wing and found an open Holland, who finished with a wrister. The Ducks struck again just 21 seconds later as Getzlaf put home a rebound to give the hosts its first lead with 3:43 remaining in the first.

A little before the midway point of the third, Perry tried sending a backhanded feed across the crease, but Bobrovsky fumbled the pass attempt as it went off his glove and over the goal line for another power-play tally.

Columbus, cut it to 3-2 with less than eight minutes remaining as Brassard put home a rebound, but the Ducks hung on down the stretch.
