Final
Perry, Ducks down Blues
Mar 11, 2013 - 3:28 AM Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Corey Perry potted a pair of goals as part of a three-goal third period that lifted the Anaheim Ducks to a 4-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues on Sunday at Honda Center.Andrew Cogliano and Bobby Ryan each scored once, while Francois Beauchemin added a trio of helpers for the Ducks, who tied a franchise-record with their 11th consecutive home victory.
"It feels good," Perry said of the win. "Everybody here knows what's going on and the role they're supposed to be playing."
Jonas Hiller posted 29 saves in the victory, Anaheim's third in a row overall.
Ryan Reaves and Patrik Berglund netted a goal apiece for the Blues, who had a two-game win streak snapped.
"We ran out of gas," Berglund admitted. "We lost our energy. We made a soft play and they shoved it down our throats."
Jaroslav Halak allowed three goals on 21 shots in the setback.
Reaves opened the scoring just over six minutes in when he camped out in front and re-directed Wayne Redden's point blast past Hiller for a 1-0 lead.
Cogliano countered just under 8 1/2 minutes into the second with the Ducks on the penalty kill, as he picked up a loose puck near his own blue line and caught the Blues on a line change which allowed the Anaheim center to race in a breakaway that he converted with a wrister over the glove of Halak to make it 1-1.
Berglund then buried a power-play marker 1:41 into the third to restore St. Louis' one-goal lead, but the Ducks erupted for three unanswered goals to take control.
The first came off the stick of Ryan just 1:30 later, as he recovered a blocked shot in the slot and ripped the disc past Halak to tie the game at the 3:11 mark.
With Anaheim on the power play near the five-minute mark, Ryan Getzlaf skated into the right circle and ripped a wrister that Perry deflected in front to put the Ducks ahead, 3-2, with 14:40 to play.
Perry then added an empty-netter with 40 seconds left to account for the final margin.
