Maple Leafs look to keep rolling vs. Bruins

Nov 9, 2006 - 1:57 PM Toronto (9-5-3) at Boston (4-6-2) 7:00 pm EST

BOSTON (Ticker) - The Toronto Maple Leafs started slowly but have been playing solid hockey in winning five of their last six games.

The Maple Leafs look to keep rolling when they play the Boston Bruins in a Northeast Division battle on Thursday.

Toronto went 2-1-0 on a three-game road trip, then scored a 4-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday.

The Maple Leafs and Flyers were tied, 1-1, after two periods, but Nik Antropov, Alexei Ponikarovsky and Tomas Kaberle scored in the third period to help the Leafs pull away. Andrew Raycroft stopped 40 shots for Toronto, which went 1-for-7 on the power play.

The Bruins are coming off a 5-3 defeat to the Atlanta Thrashers on Monday. Patrice Bergeron led the Bruins with two power-play goals and Brad Boyes added a shorthanded tally.

Goaltending has been a big problem for the Bruins this season. Tim Thomas stopped only 34-of-39 shots against the Thrashers and Hannu Toivonen was shipped to Providence of the AHL on Tuesday.
