Bruins rip Senators in Olympic tune up
Feb 8, 2014 - 11:19 PM Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Patrice Bergeron tallied two goals and an assist to fuel a decisive 7-2 win for the Boston Bruins over the Ottawa Senators on Saturday, the clubs' respective finales before the Olympic break.Brad Marchand supplied a goal and two helpers, while Carl Soderberg and Jarome Iginla both added a score and a helper. Milan Lucic and Chris Kelly also scored for the Bruins, winners in three of their last four.

Bergeron opened the scoring on the power play. He entered the zone and sent the puck over to Soderberg, who quickly returned the puck on a give-and-go. Bergeron caught up to the pass to tip it in past Anderson nearly 12 minutes into the first.
The Bruins took a two-goal edge at 16:26. David Warsofsky sent a dish across the ice to Kelly, who deflected the puck over the shoulder of Anderson.
Bergeron tallied his second of the contest as he patiently dragged the puck past Anderson and backhanded the puck into the net to extend Boston's lead to three nearly five minutes into the middle frame.
Ryan put Ottawa on the board with 2:45 left in the second with a wrist shot from the left circle for his 21st of the season.
Iginla allowed Boston to regain a three-goal edge 63 seconds after Ryan's marker. David Krejci patiently held the puck at the left circle and feathered a pass past an Ottawa defender in front to Iginla, who tipped it in for his 17th of the season.
Boston tacked on three more goals in the third. Lucic snapped a shot top shelf from the right side as Anderson conceded his fifth goal before being pulled at 3:35 of the third and Marchand redirected the puck through the legs of Lehner nearly five minutes later.
Wiercioch skated up to the left circle and sent a wrister over the shoulder of Johnson on the power play with under five to go. Soderberg recorded the final Boston goal 1:48 later when he skated through the slot to wrist a shot past Lehner.
