Avs match another franchise mark, douse Flames

Nov 9, 2013 - 4:54 AM Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Jean-Sebastien Giguere posted 30 saves to remain perfect on the season and help the Colorado Avalanche bounce back from their second setback of the season with a 4-2 decision over the Calgary Flames on Friday at Pepsi Center.

Giguere improved to 5-0-0 and has allowed just five goals this year to help the Avalanche improve to 13-2-0 on the season, matching the franchise record for the best start to a campaign set by the Quebec Nordiques in 1995.

Ryan O'Reilly registered a goal and an assist, while John Mitchell, Matt Duchene and Paul Stastny added a goal apiece in the victory.

Mike Cammalleri netted both Calgary goals, while Karri Ramo stopped 23 shots for the Flames, who have lost three straight and five of their last six games.
