Marian Hossa and Patrick Kane each had a goal and an assist for the Blackhawks, who improved to 15-4-4 on the season and remained one point ahead of St. Louis in the Central Division.

Patrick Sharp, Ben Smith and Brandon Saad also lit the lamp, while Corey Crawford stopped 22-of-25 shots for the victors.

"I really liked the way we played tonight," said Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville. "I thought we answered the bell at the start of the game, and answered the bell when they had their run there in the second, but I thought we had an excellent first and third period, and did a lot of good things to play the right way."

Andrew Ladd and Dustin Byfuglien each had a goal and an assist for the Jets, who have dropped three in a row. Keaton Ellerby also lit the lamp.

Ondrej Pavelec gave up five goals on 32 shots in defeat.

"We got what we deserved," Pavelec said "If you play in your zone like we did tonight, you can't expect to get a point. They won the cup for a reason."

Hossa broke a 3-3 tie at the 3:11 mark of the third period. Toews carried the puck down the right side before sliding a cross-ice pass to Hossa, who chipped the disc past Pavelec.
