Jokinen scores twice as Panthers top Blachkhawks

SUNRISE, Florida (Ticker) - Olli Jokinen had a pair of goals, including the go-ahead tally, as the Florida Panthers defeated the Chicago Blackhawks, 3-2, on Tuesday afternoon.

Jokinen's second tally came with 8:29 remaining when he put a shot past Nikolai Khabibulin from the left circle. He had tied t he game at 2-2 when he redirected a long pass from Cory Murphy past Khabibulin on the power play at 3:09 of the third.

Murphy had three assists for the Panthers, while Craig Anderson stopped 14 shots.

The Blackhawks held a 2-1 lead after two periods. Chicago took the lead midway through the second period when Robert Lang sent a wrist shot from the right circle past Anderson's stick and into the left corner of the net.

The Blackhawks only had two shots in the second period, after six in the opening 20 minutes.

Florida took a 1-0 lead when Anthony Stewart put a rebound between Khabibulin's legs at 14:25 of the opening period.

A high-sticking penalty on Nathan Horton quickly allowed Chicago to tie the game.

Patrick Sharp redirected a point shot by James Wisniewski past Anderson, a former Blackhawk, at 15:50.

It was the first goal allowed this preseason by Anderson, who had 38 saves at Chicago last Thursday.

Florida defenseman Mike Van Ryn, who had missed almost all of the preseason with a groin injury, returned to action.
