Hensick leads Avalanche to shootout win over Kings

Sep 28, 2008 - 6:41 AM LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- T.J. Hensick scored the lone goal of the shootout Saturday, leading the Colorado Avalanche to a 4-3 triumph over the Los Angeles Kings in a preseason contest at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Defenseman Jordan Leopold forged a 3-3 tie for the Avalanche late in the third period, converting a pass from captain Joe Sakic for his first goal of the preseason. Darcy Tucker and Matt Hendricks each netted their second tally of the exhibition campaign.

Anze Kopitar and Matt Moulson scored power-play goals and Vladimir Dravecky also tallied for Los Angeles. Kopitar and Moulson each have two preseason goals, with both of Moulson's coming with the man advantage.

The Kings, who posted a shootout victory over the Avalanche at the Pepsi Center on Wednesday, are 3-0-1 this preseason. Colorado improved to 2-0-1.
