Maple Leaf go for fourth straight victory

TORONTO (Ticker) -- Kyle Wellwood and the Toronto Maple Leafs go for their fourth straight win when they host the Florida Panthers on Tuesday.

Wellwood had a monster game in Saturday's 9-2 rout of the New York Rangers with three goals and two assists to tie Darcy Tucker for the team lead with 31 points. Alexei Ponikarovsky had two goals and three assists for Toronto.

A key for the Leafs in their streak has been the power play, as Toronto is 7-for-17 (41.2 percent).

Florida comes off a 6-3 victory over the Boston Bruins on Saturday. Jozef Stumpel came back to haunt his old team with two goals and two assists while Gary Roberts had a goal and an assist. The Panthers went 3-for-7 on the power play against the Bruins.

Panthers goaltender Ed Belfour could make his first start in Toronto since he left the Leafs over the summer. Belfour was in goal and made 23 saves when Florida defeated Toronto, 4-2, on November 2.

The Panthers have lost their last five visits to Toronto and have been outscored, 20-9.
