Blue Jackets, Red Wings meet in rematch

DETROIT (Ticker) -- Sergei Fedorov and the Columbus Blue Jackets look for a home-and-home sweep over the Detroit Red Wings when the clubs meet on Wednesday.

Fedorov, who was part of three Stanley Cup winning clubs in Detroit, scored twice on Monday to lead the Blue Jackets to a 4-3 victory. Rick Nash and Jason Chimera also tallied for Columbus.

Fedorov, who also had an assist in the victory, has 12 goals and 10 assists in 26 games this season. He had nine 30-goal seasons in his 13 years in Detroit, and has five goals and five assists in his last six games.

David Vyborny had three assists and leads the Blue Jackets with 30 points. Vyborny has a six-game point streak going in which he has 12 points.

Fredrik Norrena finished with 33 saves for the Blue Jackets, who improved to 7-4-1 since Ken Hitchcock took over as coach in late November.

Robert Lang scored twice and Jiri Hudler had the other goal for Detroit, which outshot Columbus, 36-26, but went scoreless in four power-play opportunities.

Dominik Hasek got the start for the Red Wings, but was pulled after allowing three first-period goals on only 12 shots. Chris Osgood replaced him and finished with 13 saves.
