Red Wings, Wild meet in first of three games in the next week

DETROIT (Ticker) -- The Detroit Red Wings and the Minnesota Wild will be getting to know each other well over the next six days.

The Wings and Wild square off in the first of three meetings on Friday. The clubs meet on December 23 in Minnesota and again in Detroit on December 27 after the Christmas break.

Detroit has won three of its last four after a 5-0 drubbing of the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday. Dominik Hasek made 27 saves to record his 73rd career shutout. "The Dominator" is ranked first in goal-against average with a mark of 1.88

Daniel Cleary scored twice to lead Detroit while Nicklas Lidstrom had a goal and an assist. Jason Williams and Kirk Maltby also scored for the Red Wings, who went 2-for-6 on the power play.

Minnesota has struggled on the road lately, going 0-3-0 while being outscored, 10-4. The Wild, only 4-11-1 on the road this season, salvaged the second of a home-and-home series with the Vancouver Canucks in a 5-2 victory on Tuesday.

Branko Radivojevic led the Wild with two goals while Brian Rolston added a goal and an assist.
