Maple Leafs try to rebound from ugly loss

CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The Toronto Maple Leafs should be highly motivated for their meeting with the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday.

Toronto had been playing well in winning three straight, but was blasted, 7-3, by the Florida Panthers at home on Tuesday.

Andrew Raycroft had a tough evening, as he was pulled after allowing six goals on 26 shots. Jeff O'Neill, Tomas Kaberle and Carlo Colaiacovo scored for the Leafs, who took a 1-0 lead early in the first period but then surrendered seven consecutive goals.

Chicago had won three of its last four but fell, 2-1, to the Nashville Predators on Wednesday. Martin Havlat had the only goal for the Blackhawks while Nikolai Khabibulin recorded 17 saves.

Havlat has a three-game point streak going in which he has registered two goals and three assists.
