Maple Leafs hope to snap three-game slide

TORONTO (Ticker) -- If the Toronto Maple Leafs want to end their recent slide, they will have to do so without Michael Peca.

The shorthanded Maple Leafs look to snap a three-game losing streak when they host the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday.

Helping Edmonton capture the Western Conference crown last spring, Peca has four goals and 11 assists in 35 games this season.

He will be sidelined up to four months after breaking his right leg when colliding with Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Jim Vandermeer in the first period of Friday's defeat.

Mats Sundin scored two third-period goals, but Toronto dropped a 3-2 decision to the Washington Capitals on Saturday.

Pierre-Marc Bouchard scored the game-winning breakaway goal 45 seconds into overtime to help lift Minnesota to a 3-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday.

Mark Parrish and Mikko Koivu each scored goals in the third period that helped the Wild take the game into the extra session.
